The Indian on the roof of De Witte
Dame during the reconstruction
period (1996, Eindhoven, The
Netherlands). As a nomad, the infla-
table figure of The Indian travels the
world.
The interpretation of the figure is
determined by the cultural context in
which it appears. Wherever The Indian
travels, the artist behind the figure
narrates the same story: a fairy tale
based on he concept of a balanced
and harmonious fusion of art and
culture, entertainment and commerce,
in one huge building.
The tale of The Indian was recounted
in various cities in the Netherlands,
Scandinavia, the Middle East and
China. The Indian is still continuing
his nomadic journey across the world.
ARCTIC fully endorses the principles
represented by The Indian and has
therefore adopted the project The
Indian and De Witte Dame.
De Indiaan op het dak van
De Witte
Dame tijdens de verbouwing (1996,
Eindhoven). Het beeld is opblaasbaar
en trekt als een nomade de wereld
rond.
